IMARK - Information Management Resource Kit




		PARTNERSHIPS

IMARK is an e-learning initiative in agricultural information management developed by FAO and partner organizations.

		IMARK is a partnership-based initiative which acknowledges the collective value of mobilizing and building upon existing resources and capacity building activities to create a comprehensive suite of distance learning resources for information management and exchange related to agricultural development and food security.

The underlying concept of IMARK is based on the premise of a truly collaborative distance learning initiative. The IMARK Steering Group and strategic partners are working to build a knowledge base to bring new concepts, attitudes, approaches, and tools for effective information management to an internationally widespread community.

The initiative seeks to bring together and build upon existing resources, extensive experience and subject matter expertise, while substantially reducing duplication of effort in capacity building in the information management sector.

Several partnerships and agreements in support of IMARK have already been established, or are under discussion, with international and regional organizations, as well as research and academic institutions. Several IMARK partners are also members of ItrainOnline which supports learners and trainers in the South (see box).



		ItrainOnline is a joint initiative of organizations with exceptional expertise in computer and Internet training in the South. The ItrainOnline partners are working together and pooling resources to ensure that learners and trainers in the South have a convenient entry point on the web for the resources and tools they need. ItrainOnline responds to the need for a single source on the web containing a selection of the best and most relevant computer and Internet training resources for development and social change.
